NORMAN, Okla. – The awards keep coming for Oklahoma junior Jake Dalton. For the second time this season, Dalton was named the College Gymnastics Association's NCAA Gymnast of the Week on Thursday.

The weekly honor is voted on by the 17 active college coaches and the 35 CGA Honorary Lifetime Members, plus seven major club programs. Dalton has won the weekly award seven times throughout his career.

The national honor comes two days after Dalton was named the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) Gymnast of the Week, a title he's earned three times this season.

Dalton was awarded the honor after the Sooners took down defending national champion Stanford and posted an NCAA-best 357.050 on Saturday night in Norman. Dalton led Oklahoma with four individual event titles (floor, vault, parallel bars and high bar) in addition to winning the all-around title with a season-high 90.500 against the conference foe.

Dalton's all-around total topped then-No. 1 Eddie Penev (87.900) of Stanford to retake the top spot in the Troester individual rankings. Dalton is also the nation's No. 1 gymnast on floor and parallel bars, No. 2 on high bar on No. 5 on rings and vault.

The OU captain won the floor exercise title with a 16.050, scoring over a 16 for the third time this season. He also recorded a career-high 15.050 on rings and season highs on vault (15.350) and parallel bars (15.550).

The Sooners return to action at the Lloyd Noble Center at 7 p.m. on Saturday, March 10 to preview the venue for the 2012 NCAA Championships, held at the LNC on April 19-21.

Saturday's meet includes a giveaway of 250 free “Boomer Sooner” fan banners along with drawings for a $50 gift card, a $25 gift card to Pickleman's and a $20 gift card to Raising Cane's.

Single-meet tickets ($8 Adult and $5 Youth) for all regular-season home meets are for general admission.

Tickets can be purchased online at SoonerSports.com or by calling the OU Athletics Ticket Office at (800) 456-GoOU. For more information on OU men's gymnastics, visit www.SoonerSports.com.
