Big 12 Coaches Pick Men's Tennis Second

NORMAN, Okla. – The University of Oklahoma men's tennis team was chosen second in the first ever Big 12 preseason poll of the conference's coaches, announced by the league Tuesday.

The Sooners trailed only Texas, who was pegged the favorites to win the conference after the Longhorn's received four first place votes and 24 points.

Oklahoma tallied two of the six first place votes and finished just three points (21) behind their foes from south of the Red River.

Texas A&M came in third place with 17 points, while Baylor (13), Texas Tech (10) and Oklahoma State (5) rounded out the rankings.

Oklahoma is currently ranked No. 25 in the country and is 9-3 overall this season.  The Sooners open Big 12 play Friday, March 30 at 5 p.m. at 13th-ranked Texas.
