NORMAN, Okla. -- Oklahoma sophomore Chirapat Jao-Javanil was named Golfweek's player of the week on Tuesday after winning the Central District Invitational in Parrish, Fla.

Jao-Javanil finished the Central District Invitational with a three-round 212 (-4), good for a two-shot victory. It marked her second individual collegiate win (she also won the Golfweek Invitational in September). She has posted three top-10 finishes this season.

“This honor is not something you would see in Thailand,” said Jao-Javanil, who was dubbed by Golfweek as a rising star. “The U.S. is kind of the home of golf and Golfweek is pretty much central to everyone, so it was pretty exciting to see me getting recognized. My mom was so excited for me and so was Coach Vero(nique Drouin).”

The Thailand native, who is currently ranked No. 59 by Golfweek, has collected nine top-10 finishes in just 17 career events at OU.

Jao-Javanil and her Sooner teammates will be back in action March 16-18 at the Clover Cup in Mesa, Ariz.
