NORMAN, Okla. -- Oklahoma inked 26 student-athletes on National Siging Day last Wednesday, six of whom are already on campus. Among the early enrollees are junior college transfers Kass Everett, Brannon Green and Chaz Nelson.
Each of the three sat down with host Chris Plank on our live Signing Day webcast and also participated in a quick Q&A with SoonerSports.com's Andrew Gilman.
We'll feature one newcomer each day over the next three days, beginning with Kass Everett, a cornerback out of Pierce College in California.
What was the the tipping point for choosing OU?
"It came down to tradition and what Oklahoma has to offer. There were a lot of things at Texas Tech that made me feel unstable. I couldn't ignore everything that's going on here. I saw all the trophy cases and all the championships and tradition."
What did you like best about OU?
"I knew it was a prestigious football school and they compete year-in and year-out. They dominate the Big 12 and they have a lot of tradition."
Did you follow OU growing up?
"I knew about Roy Williams and Adrian Peterson and more recently Ryan Broyles. I knew that a lot of great players have come through here and made a name for themselves."
You've been on campus for awhile. Are you starting to get acclimated?
"I feel very comfortable here. The staff and players have helped me from day one. I feel great here."
How has the transition gone from junior college gone so far?
"I have more to learn but I can't wait. It feels great to build team chemistry and go through some workouts. But I can't wait."
Do you feel like you're going to be ready to compete for a starting spot on day one this season?
"That's how I treat it. I cannot redshirt. I enrolled early for the sole purpose of coming in and making an immediate impact."
