The Big 12 Conference and its television partner, FX, announced today that it will move the Nov. 26 Oklahoma-Iowa State game from a 7 p.m., kickoff to 11 a.m., that same day.

"Our fans have remained loyal through six night games this season with two more on the horizon," Athletics Director Joe Castiglione said. "Of those, four have been in Norman and we've heard from many fans who have driven home in the very early morning hours. For that reason, and because we feel like a day game may provide warmer temperatures for a late-season game, we have endorsed the idea of moving this game to a day-time start."

The OU-Iowa State game was announced before the season as a 7 p.m., kickoff by FX, the network that is carrying the game.

"We appreciate the desire to get times out there early, but in this case, it probably would have been best to wait," Castiglione said. "We hope that by providing information about the change nearly three weeks before the game, we can help to mitigate any impact it might have on fans traveling to the game."

FOOD DRIVE A SUCCESS
Josh Heupel's 14 Foundation collected $34,655 last weekend as part of its 11th Annual Holiday Food Drive. Sooner fans contributed prior to the Texas A&M game to help serve meals in 10 Oklahoma communities during the holiday season.

"I want to thank the generous OU fans who support us," Heupel said. "I also want to thank the volunteers, who have worked so hard to help us raise funds and our partners who play such a key role. The Holiday Food Drive has impacted a lot of lives since we began during my playing days here, and it's one of the most rewarding projects I've ever been involved with. I hope those who have contributed also sense the good feelings that come from helping others. Without them, none of this could happen."

Over its history, the 14 Foundation has served more than 100,000 meals and expects to add as many as 15,000 to that figure this year. Those food items will be distributed between Nov. 14-21. Partners in the effort include the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma and U.S. Foods.
