Promotional Schedule Released for Baseball

NORMAN, Okla. -- The University of Oklahoma Athletics Marketing Department released the promotional schedule for the 2012 home baseball season on Tuesday.
Some highlights
include six $.50 hot dogs/cokes games, half-priced tickets on Saint Patrick's Day, Military Appreciation Day, Cheer Like a Champion Day, Pack the Park Crimson Day and Senior Day.
Some of the giveaways include: 2012 schedule cards and posters, OU mini bats, OU trading cards, OU license plate covers, OU seat cushions, Saint Patrick's Day cups and ice cream mini helmets.
The Sooners open the home slate this weekend against Hartford. The home opener on Friday, Feb. 24 will get underway at 3 p.m. Saturday's game is set for a 2 p.m. start and Sunday's finale is slated for a 1 p.m. first pitch.
On Thursday, fans can catch the first glimpse of the newly renovated L. Dale Mitchell Park as OU hosts Meet the Sooners Day.
It marks the third consecutive year for the event which gives fans a behind-the-scenes look at a Sooner practice and an opportunity to purchase season tickets. Fans will have the first opportunity to see the two new rows of chair back seats that were currently installed in the offseason at L. Dale Mitchell Park. The new capacity at the park is listed at 3,180.
The event will run from 6 p.m.-7:30 p.m. and will feature a meet and greet with players and coaches, autographs with the 2012 posters and schedule cards, and an opportunity to be on the field during batting practice.

Facility Renovations
The baseball team hosts 30 games at L. Dale Mitchell Park in Norman, including Big 12 series with Texas, Kansas State, Missouri and Baylor and non-conference games with Air Force, Oral Roberts, Arkansas, Dallas Baptist and TCU.
Grand Slam Ticket Package
OU baseball fans can pick any four games off the 2012 schedule and pay a sale price of $32. The $8 ticket for each game includes the reserved chair back seats, originally priced at $12 per game.

Group Tickets | More Information
Discounted group tickets are available for $4 for groups of 10-99. Groups of 100 or more are eligible for $3 tickets. For the Bedlam game in Norman on April 5, 2011 all groups of 10 or more can purchase tickets for $5 each. Limits may be imposed based on availability.
