NORMAN, Okla. -- The 2012 Oklahoma baseball television schedule was announced on Wednesday by Sooner Sports Properties for games played through the month of March.
Eight games produced by the Sooner Sports Network will be televised in the state of Oklahoma on Cox Cable (Ch. 3/703 HD).
Each of the games will be televised live from Norman with local sports personality Chad McKee calling the play-by-play and additional contests will be added throughout the season. Please check your local cable or satellite provide for coverage in your area.
The Sooners are also scheduled to appear in two games on Fox Sports Southwest. The first of the two nationally televised games will be played on Friday, May 4 in Tulsa, Okla., for the Oklahoma Farm Bureau Bedlam Series. That game is scheduled for 7 p.m. at ONEOK Field in downtown Tulsa. The second game comes during the final Big 12 series of the year against Baylor. The Sooners and Bears will tangle at 2 p.m. on Saturday May 12 on FSN.
In the last six years, 75 OU games have been seen on regional or national television, with 20 telecasts in 2011.
"We are very excited for the continued television coverage of our program," said OU Head Baseball Coach Sunny Golloway. "The guys at Sooner Vision and Sooner Sports Properties do a great job of showcasing our program in the state. It is a great opportunity for those fans that can't make it out to L. Dale Mitchell Park to catch us on television."
The Sooners' first home game can be seen on Tuesday, Feb. 28 when UT-Arlington comes to town for a 3 p.m. first pitch at L. Dale Mitchell Park. The Texas series (March 16-18) marks the first Big 12 Conference games to be televised.
The two-game set against Air Force (March 20-21) and the first two games of the Kansas State series (March 30-31) will also be televised.
