Kropp Finishes at 5 Under Par

NORMAN, Okla. -- University of Oklahoma senior Will Kropp shot a final-round 67 (-4) to finish in a tie for 16th place at the 2012 Western Refining College All-America Golf Classic in El Paso, Texas.

The 38th annual tournament, held at the 6,781-yard, par-71 El Paso Country Club, featured 23 of the world's elite amateur golfers, including 16 of the top 100, according to the R&A World Amateur Golf Rankings.

Kevin Penner (-14) of UNLV claimed first place, edging out Arkansas's Sebastian Cappelen (-13) and defending champion Cory Whitsett (-12) of Alabama. Kropp and Chattanooga's Steven Fox each posted a three-round 208 (-5).

Kropp teed of from the 10th hole and finished the back nine at par. He then fired three straight birdies to open the back nine and closed the event with an eagle on the par-5 No. 9 hole en route to his best single-round score of the event.

On Monday, Kropp scored a 73 (+2) in the first round before improving his second-round score by five strokes, posting a 3-under 71 score.

The Edmond, Okla. product was the only Big 12 participant in the contest.
