The Sooners have inked ten sweeps throughout the 2012 season, including a five-match stretch from Sept. 8-Sept. 19, and three in conference action.

Fifteen sweeps in one season is a program-record for OU, which has been accomplished three times since 1981 (1987, 1993), including once under head coach Santiago Restrepo in 2006. In that same time span, OU has notched 12, 10-plus season sweeps - three since Restrepo has been at the helm of the program.

SOONER SWEEPS

Oklahoma has totaled 11 of its 16 victories on the season in three-set sweeps, which includes wins over Western Michigan, Air Force, North Dakota State, Duquesne, SMU, Arkansas-Little Rock, New Mexico, then-No. 11 Kansas State, TCU, Baylor and Texas Tech.

Four of the eleven sweeps have been totaled in conference action.

There was a span of five matches that the Sooners posted three-set sweeps of their opponents from Sept. 14 against SMU through Sept. 19 against then-No. 11 Kansas State.

DIGGIN' IT

Senior libero, Maria Fernanda is OU's career digs leader with 2,027 under her belt. Fernanda becomes the first player in Oklahoma and fifth in Big 12 history to total 2,000-plus digs throughout her career.

She now sits third in the Big 12 record books with 2,037 career digs. She is the only active Big 12 player to rank in the top-10 of Big 12 career leaders in eight separate categories.

Baylor's Allison King is second with 2,110 overall digs throughout her playing career from 2008-11. Fernanda needs to ink 73 more digs on the year to match, and 74 to surpass her record. To date she has totaled a season-high 389 digs in 24 matches.

NORMAN, Okla. -- The University of Oklahoma volleyball team (16-8, 5-4 Big 12) returns to its home court at McCasland Field House Wednesday evening when it faces Texas Tech (13-12, 2-7 Big 12). First serve is set for 7 p.m. CT.

The Sooners will then continue the latter half of their conference schedule when they travel to Morgantown, W. Va., for the first time in program history to face the Mountaineers (8-17, 0-11 Big 12) on Saturday at 11 a.m. CT.

OU returns to the court after a three-set loss to then-No. 8 Texas on Sunday afternoon with a 5-4 record in Big 12 action.

The Sooners and Red Raiders just faced one another two weeks ago in Lubbock, Texas. The match marked OU's last win, and 11th sweep of the 2012 season.
Texas Tech is 1-1 after it last faced Oklahoma on Oct. 17 with a loss to No. 14 Kansas State and a victory against West Virginia to secure its second match victory in conference play.

Both of Texas Tech's Big 12 wins have come against the Mountaineers, as they swept the series on Sat. Oct. 27 with a four set decision (25-10, 25-19, 21-25, 25-15).

Although the Red Raiders own a 34-27 advantage when facing the Sooners, the Crimson and Cream have claimed the previous 14 matches in a seven year undefeated streak that began on Oct. 26, 2005, when both teams battled it out to five. Seven of those 13 victories have been three-set sweeps for OU, including the last meeting which saw OU take the win in three (27-25, 25-20, 25-21).

Following its Wednesday night match, Oklahoma will make its first trip to Morgantown, W. Va., to face the Mountaineers in its first November matchup.

More than halfway through conference play, West Virginia has yet to pick up a Big 12 win with a 0-11 record in conference action. The Mountaineers will enjoy a mid-week bye before the Sooners make way to the WVU Coliseum.

Both West Virginia and Oklahoma last met on Sat. Sept. 29, after the Sooners topped the Mountaineers in four (3-1; 21-25, 25-17, 25-20, 25-12). Three Sooners combined to strike double-digit kills on the night as the team totaled 48 kills and hit .314 on the night - a four set, season-best output for Oklahoma.

Before West Virginia joined the Big 12, the Sooners and Mountaineers met once before; 13 years ago on Sept. 29, 1999, in Evanston, Ill. Oklahoma swept past WVU in three sets to claim the first win in the series history.
