Alcorta, Webb Fall in Semifinals

WACO, Texas – Sooners Guillermo Alcorta and Dane Webb fell in the semifinals of the HEB-Baylor Invitational on Sunday, Sept. 25, to Baylor's Roberto Maytin and Mate Zsiga, respectively.
Alcorta, the nation's No. 7 newcomer, dropped the first set, 6-3, but came back to take the second set, 6-2. In the final set, the Bear's Maytin cruised to a 6-1 win.
In the other semifinal matchup, Webb dropped a straight-set match to BU's Zsiga, 6-2, 6-1. The nation's No. 9 newcomer won four straight before the loss.
Next up, the Sooners travel to Tulsa, Okla., to compete in the ITA All-American Championships.
