Habern, Lewis on FWAA Watch Lists

NORMAN, Okla. -- Oklahoma center Ben Habern and linebacker Travis Lewis appear on watch lists that were released today by the Football Writers Association of America.  Habern is on the Outland Trophy list, while Lewis appears on the Bronko Nagurski list.

Habern, a junior from Argyle, Texas, started all 14 games last season and led the Sooner offensive linemen with 1,070 snaps and 123 knockdowns.  He was honorable mention All-Big 12.

Lewis, a senior from San Antonio, has been Oklahoma's leading tackler in each of his first three seasons.  He enters the 2011 season with 362 career tackles, just 82 shy of Oklahoma's career top 10 list.

The Outland Trophy is presented annually to the top lineman in the nation, while the Nagurski Award goes to the top defensive players.

Five OU players have won the Outland, including Jammal Brown in 2004.  Previous Nagurski winners from Oklahoma include Roy Williams in 2001 and Derrick Strait in 2003.
