Sooners Selected to MPSF All-Academic Team

Four Sooners Earn CGA Academic Honors

NORMAN, Okla. – Four members of the University of Oklahoma men's gymnastics team were selected on Wednesday as 2011 College Gymnastics Association All-America Scholar-Athletes.

Patrick Piscitelli and Ian Jackson were both selected to the CGA first team. Piscitelli, a pre-med student, and Jackson, who is pursuing a Masters in Sports Administration, each earned grade point averages over the 3.5 first-teamrequirement.

Steven Legendre and Anthony Naddour were named to the CGA second team, which requires a GPA of 3.20 or higher. Legendre is a mechanical engineering major while Naddour is studying business.

In addition to his work in the classroom, Legendre proved to be one of the top gymnasts in the country in 2011 bycapturing three All-American honors and the Nissen-Emery Award.

The CGA honored 69 individual gymnasts as 2011 first team All-America Scholar-Athletes for attaining at least a 3.50 grade point average and 63 second team members for attaining a grade point average between 3.2 and 3.49.
