NORMAN, Okla. -- Throughout the summer, SoonerSports.com will bring fans weekly updates of current Sooners competing in the numerous summer baseball leagues around the country. Fans can also access information on former Sooners playing in Major League Baseball and its minor league affiliates.

The fifth installment, along with links to each of the players' statistics, is listed below:

SUMMER COLLEGIATE LEAGUES
In the Alaska Baseball League, Steven Bruce and Casey Coyle are at or near the top of many of the Matsu Miners statistics. Bruce currently holds a 2-1 record with a 1.85 ERA. The sophomore is second on the team in strikeouts with 21. Bruce is also currently third in innings pitched at 24.1. Coyle has earned a .262 batting average with 42 at bats, seven runs and 11 hits. The sophomore leads the miners with a perfect fielding percentage and is second in the team with both his .381 slugging percentage and five doubles. The Miners are currently in first at 12-7 in league play.

In the New England Collegiate Baseball League, Drew Dahlberg and Kindle Ladd are both playing for the North Shore Navigators. Dahlberg holds a .154 batting average with 26 at bats, two runs, and seven hits. Ladd has yet to make an appearance for the Navigators. The Navigators (13-10) are in first in their division and have a 6-4 record in the last 10 games.

OKLAHOMA IN THE MINORS
Oklahoma's all-time saves leader Ryan Duke was moved up by the Philadelphia Phillies to the Lakewood Blueclaws (Class A). Duke made his first appearance for the Blueclaws in a non-save situation. Although the team fell 5-3 to the Kannapolis Intimidators, Duke did not allow a player to reach base in one inning of relief.

In Class AA for the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, Garrett Richards, a 2009 first round draft pick, is 10-1 with a 3.14 ERA in 16 starts for the Arkansas Travelers. Richards has recorded six or more strikeouts in six of his last 10 games. Richards was honored as a TEX Mid-Season All Star on June 28.

In Class AAA, Reggie Willits is continuing to swing as a consistent batter for the Salt Lake Bees. The Chickasha native hit safely in each of his last nine starts with 11 hits.
In the Rookie Pioneer League, Chris Ellision is doing some steady batting of his own. In his last 10 games with the Missoula Osprey, Ellison has earned a .310 batting average with nine runs, 13 hits, 6 RBIs and two homeruns. Ellison leads the team in hits, total bases and runs and ranks just third in at-bats.

OKLAHOMA IN THE MAJORS
Jason Bartlett, now the everyday shortstop with the San Diego Padres, has played in 81 games this season. Bartlett holds a .238 batting average with 32 runs, 11 hits and 21 RBIs.

Daniel McCutchen has become a solid relief pitcher for the Pittsburgh Pirates. McCutchen is 3-1 on the season with a 2.31 ERA in 38 appearances.
