CLEVELAND -Four OU women's gymnasts will compete in the 2011 NCAA Individual Event Finals on Sunday, April 17 at noon (CT). Megan Ferguson will compete on both bars and beam, Natasha Kelley will also compete on beam, Madison Mooring will be on vault while Kayla Nowak will compete on bars.
The four Sooners were named first team All-Americans on their respective events after finishing in the top four during OU's semifinal win on Friday.
Ferguson was the only gymnast to score a 9.9 or higher on beam in both the semifinal session and team finals. Ferguson has scored at least a 9.9 on beam in all four of OU's postseason competitions (Big 12s - 9.925, Norman Regional - 9.9, Semifinals - 9.925, Finals - 9.9).
Ferguson also scored a 9.9 on bars during OU's semifinal on Friday, along with Nowak who also posted a 9.9 during semifinals. Nowak's 9.9 tied her career-high which she previously set during the NCAA Norman Regional on April 2.
Kelley will compete on beam after posting her sixth score of 9.9 or higher on beam during Friday's semifinal. Kelley was one of three gymnasts during the NCAA semifinals (along with Ferguson) to score above a 9.9 on beam.
Mooring will compete on vault for the Sooners. Mooring posted a career-high 9.9 during semifinals on Friday.
