NORMAN, Okla. – The 23rd-ranked Oklahoma women's golf team tees off in its final tournament of the regular season at the 54-hole Baylor Spring Invitational April 11-12 (Monday-Tuesday) at the par-72 Twin Rivers Golf Club in Waco, Texas.
The Sooners will face five Big 12 opponents in their last event before the Big 12 Championship.
“We're excited to finish the season strong at Baylor before the post-season,” said OU head coach Veronique Drouin. “We've been working hard since our last event and the girls are ecstatic to get back into tournament mode. This tournament will also be a great way to prepare for the Big 12 Championship.”
Oklahoma will be led by freshman Chirapat “Ja” Jao-Javanil, competing at the No. 1 position for her fifth straight tournament. The freshman has finished in the top 15 in seven of her eight collegiate events.
Junior Brooke Collins will start at the No. 2 position for the second time this season. Collins has carded two top-eight finishes in her last three tournaments.
Senior Ellen Mueller, who has finished in the top 10 in five of her eight tournaments this season, will play from the Sooners' No. 3 position.
Freshmen Emily Collins and Anne-Catherine Tanguay round out the Sooner lineup in the No. 4 and 5 spots, respectively.
Mariah Montoya will also represent the Sooners, competing in the event as an individual. Montoya finished in second place while competing as an individual last week at the Quail Creek Classic in Oklahoma City.
The 18-team tournament will feature 36 holes on Monday and 18 on Tuesday. Monday's play will begin at 8:30 a.m. CT. Live stats will be available at Golfstat.com.
