TULSA, Okla. - Kelly Chapman scored on a wild pitch in the bottom of the sixth inning as the Tulsa Golden Hurricane downed the 12th ranked Oklahoma Sooners 1-0 Wednesday evening.
Aimee Creger (11-1) won the one hour, 25 minute pitcher's duel, holding the Sooners (22-8) to just two hits. Creger had her perfect game broken up with a catcher's interference call in the fourth and both hits came in the sixth ending the no-hitter. Creger struck out eight.
The Golden Hurricane (22-7) got three hits off OU starter Keilani Ricketts (14-4). Ricketts allowed the one earned run on the three hits and one walk. She struck out nine.
Brianna Turang and Chana'e Jones collected both hits for the Sooners, which had runners at the corners with two outs in the sixth but were unable to score.
Skylar Swanson walked to leadoff the second for the Golden Hurricane. She moved to second on a Shelby Blanton infield single but both were stranded to end the frame.
Chapman led off the sixth with a double to right field and advanced to third on a sacrifice bunt by Caitlin Everett. Chapman then scored on a wild pitch to push the home team in front 1-0. Samantha Cobb added the Golden Hurricane's third hit of the game before the inning ended.
The Sooners went down in order in the seventh to end the game.
