NORMAN, Okla. -- Oklahoma remained No. 1 in the Coaches Poll but fell to No. 3 behind LSU and Alabama in the latest AP Poll released Sunday afternoon. Only the Coaches Poll is used in the BCS calculations.
The Sooners (4-0, 1-0 Big 12) defeated Ball State in its final non-conference matchup Saturday night in Norman for its 39th-consecutive home win at Owen Field.
OU garnered 27 first-place votes from the coaches while No. 2 Alabama had 21 and No. 3 LSU ten. Once coach placed Wisconsin at the top of the ballot. Ranked opponents on OU's upcoming schedule included Oklahoma State (No. 7), Texas (No. 10), Kansas State (No. 21) and Texas A&M (No. 25). Baylor and Texas Tech received votes. OU previously defeated No. 23 Florida State.
In the AP,
upcoming ranked opponents included No. 6 Oklahoma State, No. 11 Texas, No. 20 Kansas State, No. 24 Texas A&M and No. 25 Baylor. Texas Tech received votes. Florida State was ranked 22.
Oklahoma meets Texas in the Red River Rivalry at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas on Saturday. The game will kick at 11 a.m. with a national telecast by ABC. ESPN's College GameDay will broadcast from site.
