Three Early Football Enrollees Anticipated

NORMAN, Okla. -- Two early enrollees from high school are already attending classes at Oklahoma and a third is expected later this week as new Sooner football players have their first official brush with the campus and football program. The spring semester began Tuesday.
 
The two who are already on campus are Kendal Thompson, a quarterback from Southmoore High School in Moore, Okla., and Brandon Williams, a running back from Brookshire Royal High School in Brookshire, Texas.
 
Later this week, OU officials expect Marquis Anderson, a defensive tackle from Steele High School in Cibolo, Texas, to begin classes.
 
Anderson was named to the 2011 U.S. Army All-American Bowl. He was a four-star recruit by ESPN.com and Rivals.com and a three-star recruit by Scout.com. Rivals ranked Anderson the No. 8 defensive tackle nationally and the No. 15 overall player in the state of Texas.
 
He had 61 tackles as a senior, 21 that were unassisted. Anderson, a three-year starter had 20 tackles for loss, two sacks, 19 quarterback hurries, two fumble recoveries and three fumbles forced. As a junior, he was credited with 35 tackles, 6.5 sacks and one forced fumble.
 
Thompson was an Under Armour All-American. Rivals rated him the No. 2 player in the state of Oklahoma and the No. 14 quarterback nationally. He played in the first game of the season, but was forced out in the second due to injury and did not return until the final two games of the season.
 
For the year, he completed 25-of-34 passes for 295 yards with five touchdowns and no interceptions. He logged 42 rushing for 237 yards and one TD. Thompson, the son of former OU quarterback Charles Thompson, also caught three passes for 41 yards and one touchdown.
 
As a junior, Thompson completed 166 of 259 passes for 2,793 yards with 29 touchdowns while rushing for 466 yards and another 10 TDs. As a sophomore, he threw for 1,025 yards with 13 touchdowns with 76 completions in 148 attempts. He rushed for 136 yards and one TD.
 
Williams, also an Under Armour All-American, was a five-star recruit by both Rivals and Scout, both of which ranked him as the No. 3 running back nationally. As a senior, he rushed for 2,438 yards and 33 touchdowns while racking up 144 receiving yards and a pair of TDs.
 
In his junior season, Williams rushed for 1,815 yards and 14 TDs.
 
Oklahoma will announce the remainder of its signing class on Feb. 2, national letter of intent signing day.
