Beleleu Falls in Flight Final

CHARLOTTESVILLE – Oklahoma senior Ionut Beleleu fell to Virginia's 13th-ranked Sanam Singh in the A-2 flight Finals of the UVa Ranked Plus One Invitational Sunday at the University of Virginia.

Beleleu, ranked No. 33 nationally, was impressive leading into Sunday's showdown after taking down Virginia's Reese Milner, Cornel's Andy Gouthier and Virginia Tech's Luka Somen (No. 52). However, the Romanian native couldn't muster a win over Virginia's 13th-ranked player as he dropped the match 6-3, 6-1.

OU's Tsvetan Mihov was also in action Sunday, but the Bulgarian native dropped the A-3 flight fifth place bracket finals to Wake Forest's Ioin Atkinson (No. 68), 6-4, 6-7, 6-2.

Next up, the Sooners will participate in the ITA All-American Championships in Tulsa, Okla., Oct. 2-10.
