5:54 p.m. | Final: Oklahoma 27, Air Force 24
Oklahoma moves to 3-0 and hands Air Force its first loss of the season with a 27-24 win at Owen Field. Follow all our post-game coverage here at SoonerSports.com.
5:54 p.m. | Freshman Comes Through
On a critical third-down, offensive coordinator Kevin Wilson calls Kenny Stills' number and
the true freshman delivers with a first-down pass from Landry Jones. Oklahoma has the opportunity to run down the clock on a stubborn Air Force team.
5:50 p.m. | Squeakers
During Oklahoma's 32-game home win streak (the nation's longest), the closest margin of victory for the Sooners has been six points against Texas A&M (36-30) on November 12, 2005.
5:43 p.m. | Hands Team
Leading just 27-24, OU's hands team will take the field for the kick.
5:41 p.m. | Game Tightens
Air Force marches down the field and narrows Oklahoma's lead to a field goal, 27-24. The Falcons have 14 unanswered points here in the fourth quarter. OU's offense will need to move the ball.
5:33 p.m. | Ten Points
Oklahoma lost an opportunity to stretch the lead to a more comfortable margin here in the fourth quarter. Landry Jones missed a couple of receivers and Air Force took over on downs. The Sooner defense will go back to work with a little more than seven minutes in the game. If anyone had any doubt, Air Force will not go quietly into the night.
5:28 p.m. | Going Global
A reminder that fans around the world are watching this game from Oklahoma's Owen Field. American Forces Network is broadcasting to more than 175 countries and military aboard ships at sea. A big Boomer Sooner to our global audience.
5:23 p.m. | Military Photos, Facebook
SoonerVision is showing photos sent in to our Facebook page from Sooner fans in the military from around the world.

5:12 p.m. | Pilots Play to Crowd
Recognized during the quarter break was the 366th Fighter Wing from Mountain Home Air Force Base in Idaho who conducted today's national anthem flyover: Col. Ronald Buckley, Lt. Col. David Brynteson, Capt. Kim Volk,
Capt. Sri Krishnan, Capt. William Johnson, Capt. Grant Saum, Capt. Eric McUmber, Capt. Wesley Wood, and Major John Huguley. The group received quite a response from the crowd when they revealed the upside-down Longhorns on the shirts they were wearing under their pilot suits.
5:09 p.m. | More on Murray
Today marks the seventh time in Murray's career that he has had three or more TDs in a game. He has 52 in his career (41 rush, nine receiving and two on kick returns). That total is third best all-time after passing Quentin Griffin with 51 and only trails Billy Sims (53) and Steve Owens (57).
5:07 p.m. | Murray's Triple
DeMarco Murray walks in for his third touchdown of the day. He passes one named Adrian Peterson and is now tied with his old running mate Chris Brown for fourth on OU's rushing TDs list with 42 for his career.
5:03 p.m. | Sharing the Wealth
Oklahoma now has seven takeaways this season... by six different players. Only Jamell Fleming, who has an interception in each of the first two games, has more than one. Travis Lewis and Quinton Carter also have interceptions while Ronnell Lewis and Javon Harris each have a fumble recovery.
4:59 p.m. | Pressure = Turnover
The Sooner defense finally gets to Jefferson and it pays off as he puts it on the ground. Javon Harris, who had just entered the game in relief of Jonathan Nelson, pounced on the loose ball.
4:57 p.m. | Steven Connects
A solid performance by Jimmy Stevens so far today in relief of the injured Patrick O'Hara. Stevens has made all four of his kicks, including field goals of 32 and 41 yards, as well as two PATs.
4:53 p.m. | Broyles Over 100
Ryan Broyles 36-yard grab on OU's last drive gives him six straight games with 100+ yards receiving.
4:49 p.m. | Point to Prove
The last couple weeks, after giving up a score, the Sooner defense seems to return to the field on a mission not to let it happen again. Against Florida State last week, OU gave up a TD on the Seminoles' first drive but then shut them down the rest of the game (until a meaningless TD on the last play of the game). Today, Air Force quickly marches down the field on the opening drive of the second half but the defense responds with a three-and-out on its next drive. Hopefully they can continue that performance the rest of the half.
4:41 p.m. | Quick Response
Oklahoma doesn't relinquish the lead for long. A pair of Norman kids team up to put the Sooners right back on top. Mossis Madu gave the OU a short field with a big kickoff return, followed by a pass to Ryan Broyles inside the 10-yard line. DeMarco Murray finished it off with his 41st career rushing TD, tying Adrian Peterson for fifth on the all-time list. One more and he matches his old buddy Chris Brown.
4:38 p.m. | Air Force Strikes
We've mentioned numerous times today how the OU defense must maintain their poise and simply not give up the big play. Well, just as we mention it, the big play bites the Sooners. Tim Jefferson breaks a big run to tie the score for the Falcons.
4:36 p.m. | Option Yields No Sacks
Oklahoma's defensive line is accustomed to getting in the backfield and pressuring the quarterback. With the triple option, however, they aren't afforded many opportunities. Either the quarterback is getting rid of the ball quickly or he keeps it for a running play. The Sooners have zero sacks thus far. It's just another example of why the 'D' needs to stay focused on their assignments and not get frustrated by Air Force's nickel & dime approach of attack.
4:31 p.m. | Back to Football
We're back underway for the second half here in Norman. After a tightly-contested first half, OU's defense goes right back to work against Tony Jefferson and the Air Force offense. The Falcons' style of play and ability to chew up the clock will make it difficult for the Sooners to pull away. Stay tuned for what is shaping up to be a close one til the very end.
4:25 p.m. | OU vs. the Academies
Playing one of the service academies is a rare occasion for the Sooners, as this is just OU's sixth game all-time against one of them. Oklahoma holds a 3-2 record combined vs. Army (2-1), Navy (0-1) and Air Force (1-0). Another series against Army looms. The Sooners host the Black Knights in 2018 and travel to West Point, N.Y. in 2020.
4:21 p.m. | Military Appreciation
Pretty cool atmosphere in here at halftime as the OU and Air Force bands perform together while each branch of the military is represented with a flag presentation down on the field. The festivities culminate with a C17 flyover... an impressive sight to see the massive cargo plane crawl over Memorial Stadium.
4:13 p.m. | Halftime Presentation
For your halftime entertainment, we have another special video presentation that just played on the SoonerVision screen prior to the Air Force band marching out onto the field:

4:11 p.m. | OU Streaks
OU has 70 straight sellouts, a school record. The last 100 Oklahoma games have been on TV. This game will represent the 101st in a row to be televised. OU has won its last 32 home games, the longest current streak in the nation.
4:08 p.m. | Sizing Up the Teams
Air Force's defensive line averages 6-foot-3 and 261 pounds per man compared to 6-foot-5 and 301 pounds per man for the Oklahoma offensive line. That's two inches and 40 pounds on average per man. Air Force's offensive line average is 6-3 and 252 pounds while OU's defensive line is 6-3 and 274 pounds.
4:05 p.m. | Broyles Spins
Ryan Broyles is the master of making a catch without giving an indication which way he's going to spin and turn up field. It's got to make it extremely difficult for a DB to gamble on getting a hit in
just as the ball reaches No. 85. However, give Broyles some space and he'll spin upfield and make you look silly. Pick your poison.
4:01 p.m. | Need a Drive
It would be really nice to see DeMarco Murray break a long run here right before the half. The Sooner offensive line has a huge size advantage against the Falcons but has not been able to dominate the line of scrimmage. First downs are at a premium right now.
3:58 p.m. | Offenses Struggle
The OU offense so far does not look in sync. The run game has not been productive while Jones and his receivers are missing on opportunities. On the other side, the Air Force offense has its hands full against a Sooner defense keyed on stopping the option. Thus, a 10-3 game here in Norman late in the second quarter. There is no question the Falcons can frustrate an opponent. Ask BYU what happened in Colorado Springs last Saturday.
3:52 p.m. | Stevens in for O'Hara
Jimmy Stevens kicked his 20th career field goal in the second quarter. The total ties him for 10th place all-time at OU (Tony Dirienzo 1973-75).
3:49 p.m. | Discipline
Oklahoma's defensive line and linebackers so far have done a good job of stringing out the option to the sidelines. This Air Force team, however, can also pull back and pass the ball down the field when required.
3:44 p.m. | Receivers
We knew Ryan Broyles would be a go-to guy for the receiving corps but it's nice to see Cameron Kenney and Kenny Stills cementing their spots as dependable targets. Position Coach Jay Norvell offers a behind-the-scenes look at the receivers with his Twitter feed. It's open for anyone to follow here.
3:38 p.m. | New O-Line Starters
Oklahoma began the game with the ball and marched down the field for the first TD of the afternoon. Across the front: Jarvis Jones, Gabe Ikard, Ben Habern, Brian Lepak and Eric Mensik.
3:33 p.m. | Conditioning
It is blistering hot down here on the field. Although Air Force doesn't deal with Oklahoma heat and humidity, you can bet the team is extremely well-conditioned. Still, the size disadvantage and conditions have to wear on the Falcons as the game continues.
3:27 p.m. | Special Teams
Patrick O'Hara is on the sideline but not in uniform for this game. O'Hara is out with a muscle strain. Jimmy Stevens is in. In the second quarter, Tress Way had his fifth punt of 50-plus yards this season and the 27th of his career.
3:19 p.m. | Championship Spotlight
Oklahoma's 1974 and '75 national championship teams were recognized during the quarter break. Stay tuned to the Jani-King Championship Spotlight page, as we'll post the video tribute early next week.
Also, visit our Online Auction for some unique memorabilia signed by members of the championship teams.
3:17 p.m. | Quick Quarter
With Air Force primarily running the football, the clock continues to move, making for a quick first quarter here in Norman. Oklahoma 7, Air Force 3 at the end of one.
3:12 p.m. | Moving the Chains
Air Force continues to move the ball on their second drive. The Sooners had them in a third-and-long situation, but the Falcons again picked up just enough to keep the OU defense out on the field. Oklahoma has yet to give up a huge play,
but they'll need to continue to maintain their composure and not get frustrated as the Falcons keep chipping away.
3:07 p.m. | Impact Freshmen
Following up on that last note, Coach Stoops has raved about the freshman class and he and his staff have backed up the praise by playing them. So far, 12 freshmen have seen action in 2010 with four -- FB Trey Millard, DB Tony Jefferson and WR Kenny Stills and now OL Gabe Ikard -- drawing starts.
3:05 p.m. | First Starts
Sophomore DT Stacy McGee and redshirt freshman OL Gabe Ikard made their first career starts today against Air Force. Ikard is the fourth freshman to start this season, joining Tony Jefferson, Kenny Stills and Tom Wort.
3:02 p.m. | Murray Record Watch
With his last score, senior RB DeMarco Murray recorded his 40th career rushing touchdown to pass Joe Washington for sixth place all-time on the OU all-time list. He needs just one more to tie Adrian Peterson for fifth place. With his 50th career touchdown overall, he is the ninth player in school history to score 300 points and just the fourth position player (Steve Owens, Billy Sims and Quentin Griffin).
2:58 p.m. | Bend Until You Break
With Air Force's offense now on the field, we get our first look at their triple option attack. It's been talked about all week how the Sooner defense will try to stop it. Well, the Falcons have had quite a bit of success so far on their first drive. Just as the scouting report stated, they chip away just enough to keep the chains moving and frustrate the defense, then they'll break a big one. Thankfully, OU buckled down and was able to hold them to just a field goal.
2:54 p.m. | Too Hot To Handle
We apologize for the delay. Our laptop overheated down on the sidelines so we had to make a call to the bullpen. Meanwhile, football is underway in Norman and the Sooners are already up 7-0 after a methodical drive that culminated in a DeMarco Murray touchdown run.

2:35 p.m. | Sweet Intro
More props to SoonerVision for a job well done on the second edition of this year's intro video. A clip of Sam Bradford's infamous dive against Oklahoma State drew the loudest cheer from the hometown crowd. We'll post the video on SoonerSports.com later this week.
2:29 p.m. | Early Arriving Falcons
We had a bit of surprise early arrival by the four F15s for today's pre-game flyover, as they arrived during the middle of the national anthem. Still pretty impressive... and loud. Here's a little taste from yesterday's test run, thanks to SoonerVision's Jordan Roby:
2:19 p.m. | There's Only One
We mentioned last week the new decor in the student section while the Pride of Oklahoma performs down on the field. Here is a photo of the massive "There's Only One Oklahoma" flag that masks the band members' vacant seats during the pre-game show:

2:14 p.m. | Ricketts Family Reunion
Anyone who follows the Sooner softball team will recognize one name on the opposing sideline today. Rick Ricketts, a starting defensive tackle for the Falcons, is the brother of OU All-American softball players Samantha and Keilani. Look for No. 90 today, as Rick enters the game as Air Force's leading tackler. Read more about the Ricketts family here.
2:09 p.m. | Stars & Stripes
We're now set up at our usual location down on the sidelines. One of the first things we noticed is the American flags flying in place of the customary crimson and white ones on top of the stadium. A nice touch from the OU event management and facilities staffs to honor the military. There will be plenty more tributes throughout the day so stay tuned.
1:48 p.m. | Game Conditions
It's going to be a hot one on Owen Field this afternoon. The forecast calls for highs in the low 90s (feels like 97 degrees) with plenty of sun and a breeze at 10 mph from the South. Colorado Springs is set to top out at 85 degrees today. Big difference? The humidity in Norman is 50% but just 24% in Colorado.
