SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - The University of Oklahoma volleyball team opened its final day of non-conference play with a 3-1 win over Saint Louis Saturday morning. The Sooners took the opening two sets -22 and -20 before dropping the third 28-26. OU rebounded to take the match 25-23 in the fourth.
Oklahoma moves to 7-3 on the year and closes out action at the Dr. Mary Jo Wynn Invitational later tonight at 7:30 p.m. CT against host Missouri State.
Junior Suzy Boulavsky led the Sooners with 12 kills, hitting .303 and adding three total blocks. Freshman Sallie McLaurin recorded a season-high 10 kills, hitting .474. McLaurin also added two block solos and season-high seven block assists and OU's only service ace. Junior Brianne Barker recorded her second double-double of the tournament with 41 assists and 13 digs.
Barker commanded the OU offense to a .258 hitting percentage, committing just 17 errors in 151 attempts. The Sooners had 13 total blocks as a team, tying a season-best set against Miami on August 28. Six Sooners hit .300 or better with McLaurin's .474 leading the way.
Carly Marcum led Saint Louis with 16 kills and four Billikens registered double-digit digs.
