Oklahoma improved to 37-14 as it honored its seven seniors (Jason Chowning, Jeremy Erben, Bryan Groth, Kaleb Herren, Ross Hubbard, J.R. Robinson and Jarrett Semler) prior to the game.
Memphis, who won Friday's game 4-3, dropped to 26-26. The Sooners are one game ahead of last year's pace and have five games remaining on the season, including a key Big 12 series at Kansas next weekend.
"We always preach about winning two out of three games," said OU Head Coach Sunny Golloway. "We did that this weekend despite Friday's performance."
Shore, who lost his last two starts with a combined five innings pitched, rebounded on Sunday with six solid innings. The junior hurler held the Tigers hitless for the first 4 1/3 innings until Trey Wiedman connected on a solo home run to break up the shutout.
Memphis plated one more run off Shore in the sixth but he improved to 7-4 after giving up four hits with five strikeouts.
"I thought we pitched well (this weekend)," said Golloway. "Good response by him (Shore) for the last two weeks for not getting through three innings."
The OU offense gave Shore plenty of run support with six runs in the fourth. The Sooners batted around that inning which was highlighted by Tyler Ogle's solo home run, his fifth of the year, and Danny Black's two-run single. Black and Caleb Bushyhead both extended their career-high hitting streaks on Sunday. Black has hit safely in the last 12 games while Bushyhead is riding a 13-game hitting streak.
Ogle and Ellison had two hits apiece as OU outhit the Tigers 10-6. Ryan Hollland dropped to 1-4 in the start after just three innings pitched.
Oklahoma closes out the five-game home stand with a pair of midweek games on Tuesday and Wednesday against No. 10 Arkansas and Texas Southern, respectively. Tuesday's 2009 NCAA Regional rematch against Arkansas is slated for a 7 p.m. first pitch.
Wednesday's game against Texas Southern gets underway at 7 p.m. and fans will receive free admission.
