COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- Oklahoma's Danielle Robinson was named to the 2010 USA Basketball Women's Select Team, announced Thursday by USA Basketball.
With no tournaments scheduled this summer for college-aged players, USA Basketball will conduct the USA Select Team training camp, April 15-18, in Hartford and Storrs, Conn., in order to continue preparing its historically strong pipeline of athletes for future USA National Team events. Comprised of future USA National Team hopefuls, the collegians will scrimmage against the USA National Team.
Joining Robinson on the Select Team are Kalana Green (Connecticut), Kelsey Griffin (Nebraska), Allison Hightower (LSU), Jantel Lavender (Ohio State), Jacinta Monore (Florida State), Nnemkadi Ogwumike (Stanford), Andrea Riley (Oklahoma State), Jasmine Thomas (Duke) and Monica Wright (Virginia).
Additionally, USA Basketball veterans Debbie Ryan, the head coach at the University of Virginia, and Dawn Staley, head coach at South Carolina, will act as court coaches.
The USA National Team members attending the spring training camp are Jayne Appel, Seimone Augustus, Alana Beard, Swin Cash, Tina Charles, Kara Lawson, Angel McCoughtry, Renee Montgomery and Maya Moore.
Robinson, who averaged 16.8 points and 5.3 assists in NCAA competition this year, aided the 2009 USA World University Game Team to a gold medal in Serbia last summer. The Sooner was named to the State Farm Coaches' and Associated Press All-America Teams in 2010 and was a finalist for the Wooden Award and Nancy Lieberman Award, given to the nation's top point guard.
