NORMAN, Okla., -- On the heels of the 2010 NCAA Men's Gymnastics Championships, “USA Gymnastics: Behind the Team presented by AT&T” shows fans what it's like for those national team members who compete as both collegiate gymnasts and members of the U.S. National Team.
Viewers get a look inside the University of Oklahoma men's gymnastics program in the newest episode of “Behind the Team”, available now online only in the AT&T Fan Zone.
2010 NCAA floor champion and world team member Steven Legendre, 2010 NCAA pommel champion Alex Naddour, three-time NCAA All-American Jake Dalton and U.S. National Champion Chris Brooks talk about the rich history of Oklahoma gymnastics and what it takes to win on both levels.
The episode also features members of the 2008 Olympic bronze-medal team, including former Oklahoma gymnast Jonathan Horton. The 2008 Olympic horizontal bar silver medalist and 2009 U.S. national champion describes what collegiate gymnastics meant to him, both personally and for his gymnastics career.
Fans will get a glimpse of the training facilities at OU and recap some of the action from the 2010 Winter Cup, where select Sooners competed to make the U.S. men's national team.
No other NCAA Division I men's gymnastics program has more members on the Senior National Team than Oklahoma. OU's five National Team members marks the most National Team members that the Sooners have ever had named to the squad, besting the previous program record of four in 1994.
