LUBBOCK, Texas --
The No. 11 Sooners took a 1-0 lead in the series with Texas Tech after cruising to a 12-1 victory in game one on Saturday at Dan Law Field. Zach Neal (5-1) tossed the Sooners' first complete game of the season with four hits allowed across nine innings.

The last Sooner to toss a complete game was Garrett Richards, a first round draft pick in 2009. He accomplished the feat on May 31, 2009 against Washington State in the NCAA Norman Regional. On Saturday, Neal faced the minimum amount of batters in five of the frames and struck out one batter opposite four walks.

Oklahoma snapped a two-game slide with the win and improved to 26-8 overall and 6-5 in Big 12 play. The Sooners have won eight straight series openers over Texas Tech (18-19, 6-7).

The OU offense scored in every inning but the second and fifth and was led by Max White (3-for-5, 3 RBI) and Garrett Buechele (2-for-4, 2 RBI). The Sooners had 12 hits on Saturday afternoon and have connected for 12 or more base knocks in each of the last four Big 12 games.

The Sooners went to work early with a RBI single by Max White to plate Chris Ellison in the first inning. OU had scored first in just one of the previous 10 Big 12 games. That previous contest saw the Sooners take the game's initial lead during a 4-1 victory at Nebraska on March 27.

Garrett Buechele extended his hitting streak to six games in the third inning as OU jumped out to a 2-0 lead. He has driven in six runs in that span. The scoring continued in the third as Cody Reine's fielder's choice resulted in his 13th RBI on the year and a 3-0 Sooners' lead.

The teams exchanged runs in the fourth as OU scored after a passed ball and the Red Raiders countered in the bottom half on a sacrifice fly. That was all the Red Raiders' offense could muster as OU turned two double plays behind Neal. The four hits allowed was the second fewest allowed in 2010 by OU behind the three surrendered in game two against Texas.

Texas Tech starter Brett Bruening (2-3) lasted five innings and surrendered three earned runs, four overall, off six hits and four walks. Bruening exited the game after his 100th pitch of the game allowed Tyler Ogle to reach on an error by the Texas Tech third baseman. The error in the sixth led to another Sooner run as Danny Black's bunt single scored Ogle from third. Ellison added a sacrifice fly in the inning to give OU a 6-1 lead.

The Sooners tacked on two more runs in the seventh and two more in the eighth to extend the lead to 10-1. White was responsible for two of the four runs. White homered to lead off the seventh for his eighth long ball of the season and then walked with the bases loaded in the eighth.

The freshman sensation, White, has four multiple-hit games during his seven game hitting streak which includes 11 RBIs.

Game two on Saturday is scheduled for a 6:40 p.m. start and can be heard live on the Sooner Sports Network, KREF 1400 AM in Norman and Oklahoma City. Sunday's series finale is slated for a 1 p.m. first pitch.
