NORMAN, Okla. – Last October, former University of Oklahoma softball standout Mariee Mena passed away from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident. As a true expression of her generous spirit, Mena's organs were donated per her final wishes. On Saturday, Oklahoma softball fans have a chance to experience Mena's spirit through 12-year old Curtis Kingfisher.
Kingfisher was just one recipient of Mena's organs and will throw out the first pitch prior to OU's game with No. 3 Missouri Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m.
The Mena and Kingfisher families will meet for the first time at the site where Mariee made a name for herself on the softball field. The two families have been in contact through LifeShare Transplant Donor Services of Oklahoma.
According to the organization, LifeShare Transplant Donor Services of Oklahoma is committed to providing a better quality of life for those people who require organ or tissue transplantation, while respecting and honoring those families who share the gift of life.
A native of Escondido, Calif., Mena was a 2004 second team All-Big 12 selection and named to the NCAA Regional all-tournament team that season. She was a member of the Sooners' 2003 and 2004 Women's College World Series teams. Mena was a member of Oklahoma's 2007 Big 12 Championship team.
Mena earned USA Softball and NFCA National Player of the Week honors on Feb. 27, 2007 after leading OU with an impressive performance at the Palm Springs Tournament.

- Freshman Keilani Ricketts is carrying the OU pitching staff with a 16-6 record and 1.37 earned run average.
- Ricketts has44 walks and 147 strikeouts in 123.0 innings pitched.
- She has 13 complete games, five shutouts and two saves.
- Oklahoma's pitching staff holds opponents to a .194 batting average. Ricketts leads the way with a .161 average.
A LOOK AT MISSOURI
- Rhea Taylor leads MU with a .467 batting average, .700 slugging pct., .507 on-base pct. and 17 stolen bases.
- Pitcher Chelsea Thomas is 12-1 on the year with a 1.72 earned run average.
- Thomas has 24 walks and 123 strikeouts in 77.1 innings pitched.
A LOOK INTO THE SERIES HISTORY
- Oklahoma leads the all-time series with Missouri 47-36.
- The Tigers hold a 17-11 advantage in games played in Norman.
