NORMAN, Okla. — As the temperature rises and spring-like conditions return, the Oklahoma Track and Field program spreads out to four different locations this weekend, the second weekend of the 2010 outdoor track and field season. The men's distance group will be in Palo Alto, Calif., for the Stanford Invitational, while the women's sprints group also heads west for the Arizona State Invitational in Tempe, Ariz. In action closer to home, the women's distance travels east to the Razorback Spring Invitational in Fayetteville, Ark., while the remainder of the team heads south to Arlington, Texas for the Bobby Lane Invitational.

OU opened up the outdoor season last week as a handful of throwers competed in the Tulsa Duels and Horned Frog Invitational. This weekend's action marks the first outdoor competition this season for the majority of the program that collected eight All-America honors and four Big 12 titles along with the Big 12 men's title during the outdoor season.

Action for the weekend will begin on Friday with the hammer throw at the Bobby Lane Invitational and a full schedule of events at the Stanford Invitational. Both the Arizona State Invitational and Razorback Spring Invitational kick off on Saturday.
