WEEK 8 | March 1, 2010
Hey Sooner fans!
I hope everyone enjoyed their weekend! This week is definitely going to be one of our busiest weeks so far this year. We have a lot of marketing events planned this week to help promote our big meet this weekend against No. 1 Alabama.
We just returned to Norman from our victory at Michigan State. It felt like it was Christmas all over again during our time in East Lansing because of all the snow we encountered. Brie (Olson) and I enjoyed a nice snowball fight after dinner on Thursday. That was pretty entertaining for everyone to watch as I definitely won.
Friday was a pretty normal pre-meet day. We just did a little shopping, or “retail therapy” as Jackie (Flanery) calls it and then just relaxed in our hotel room until the meet. Overall, the meet went pretty well, but we definitely have room for improvement. We were able to drop our lowest score that we were counting in the RQS rankings which was a goal going into the meet.
The highlight of the night was definitely the vault rotation. We are seeing improvements on that event every week, which is very encouraging. Congrats to Sara Stone who scored a perfect 10.0! That was an awesome feeling to be a part of.
We are back in the gym this week with many things to work on. Our goal is to stay focused this week and make positive changes inside and outside of the gym. Friday is definitely our biggest meet of the year to date and we look forward to having a great crowd on hand.
Bring a friend with you Friday and let's pack the LNC. See you there!
