JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- No. 20 Oklahoma's five-game winning streak came to an end on Saturday at the Jacksonville Invitational in a 4-3 loss to the host Dolphins.

Jacksonville (3-3) rallied from an early 2-0 deficit with three runs in the fourth inning and held on for the win despite being outhit 9-6 by OU.

"We outhit them, we didn't have any errors, they had a couple, but it came down to timely hitting," said OU Head Coach Sunny Golloway. "They had timely hitting. They did a good job on the mound."

The Sooners (5-1) have found ways to win early this season and have scored first in three of the last four games, but have also rallied for two victories so far in 2010. Unfortunately, on Saturday, OU was unable to mount the third comeback of the season as Jeremy Erben delivered another solid outing out of the bullpen in relief of starter J.R. Robinson (0-1), who lasted four innings and surrendered four runs.

"I thought Jeremy pitched really well in relief," said Golloway. "It was situation where we were struggling offensively and I think the sign of a mature guy is to understand what you go to do and be able to hold the other team at bay and give your team a chance to win. And Jeremy gave us a chance to win. We just didn't the key, timely hitting when we needed to."

Erben, who earned the win for the Sooners with 1 2/3 innings of perfect baseball on Friday night, tossed four innings with one hit allowed and tied a career high with seven strikeouts.

Freshman Drew Harrison plated Oklahoma's first run of the game in the opening stanza on a RBI single through the right side. Harrison drove in Garrett Buechele, who earlier delivered a two-out double to left center field.

The Sooners added another run in the second on freshman Max White's first career home run. The homer by White came during his second career at-bat and marked another two-out RBI by OU in the contest.

The 2-0 lead would last the Sooners and Robinson gave up three runs after facing seven batters in the bottom of the fourth. The Dolphins' offense tallied three runs after Robinson retired six straight across the second and third innings. Robinson gave up his fourth and final run off a Dan Gulbransen home run, which led off the fifth inning.

Buechele (3-for-4, run scored) later added a single in the sixth and the eighth to give him his fifth multi-hit game of the season.

In the eighth, OU placed runners on the corners with two outs and after Chris Ellison pinch ran for Buechele and stole second base. On the attempted throw by catcher Alex Swenson, the ball deflected into right centerfield, allowing Casey Johnson to score from third.

The Sooners put a runner on first base after Caleb Bushyhead singled in the ninth, but he became the fifth runner stranded on the afternoon.

OU finishes up play in the Jacksonville Invitational at 8:30 a.m. CT against Richmond. The game can be heard live and free on SoonerSports.com. A taped-delay broadcast will air on the Sooners' flagship station, KREF 1400 AM with first pitch at noon CT.

"This is a tough turnaround for us to come back in the morning but we have to wash this (loss)," added Golloway. "It will be another maturing factor for a young club because that is something you have to do in the Big 12."
