NORMAN, Okla. -- The University of Oklahoma Track and Field program hosts its first and only indoor meet of the 2010 season this Saturday with the Sooner Open inside the Mosier Indoor Facility. The event was originally scheduled to be the second home indoor meet of the season before January's J.D. Martin Invitational was cancelled due to inclement weather.

Admission is free as the meet features three ranked teams in the No. 13 OU women, No. 16 OU men and No. 25 Oklahoma State men. The ranked teams are part of a 16 team field from across the region that also includes in-state rivals Oral Roberts and Tulsa. Action is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. with a number of field events as running events kick off at 1 p.m.

Five OU athletes currently ranked in the nation's top 10 of their respective events are schedule to compete Saturday led by the defending NCAA champion in the 60-meter hurdles, Ronnie Ash. Ash is currently ranked No. 2 in the event and will be joined by Malcolm Anderson, who is ranked No. 6 in the event.

On the women's side Scottesha Miller, ranked No. 3 in the 200-meter dash and No. 9 in the 60-meter dash, will compete in the 60-meter dash Saturday. Latoya Greaves, No. 10 in the 60-meter hurdles, will be in action as well as Karen Shump who is No. 5 in the shot put. Shump is one of three OU athletes ranked in the event joining No. 12 Tia Brooks and No. 18 Amy Backel who will both see action Saturday.
