NORMAN, Okla.--
The No. 3 Oklahoma men's gymnastics team hosts its first opponent of the season on Saturday, Feb. 13, against the University of Nebraska. The matchup between the Sooners and No. 9 Huskers is slated for a 7 p.m. start at Howard McCasland Field House.

This weekend marks the second time that OU has faced the Huskers this year, with Oklahoma winning the previous meet at the Rocky Mountain Open (347.400-337.050). The Sooners are coming off the Winter Cup Challenge were all five OU representatives sent to the event were selected to the U.S. Senior National Team following strong performances on Jan. 16.

Freshman Alex Naddour was the latest Sooner to be named to the team, while freshman Jacob Dalton and junior Steven Legendre and Olympian Jonathan Horton retained their positions on the team. The five Sooners, along with the other 10 members, will comprise the U.S. team until the Visa Championships in August.

The first 300 fans on Saturday will receive a free men's gymnastics t-shirt. Students will also have an opportunity to receive free pizza while supplies last and the greek organization with the highest attendance will win a $100 Mid-First Bank Card.

OPPONENT PREVIEW
The Nebraska men's gymnastics team placed second behind Minnesota in Minneapolis, Minn., on Jan. 30. The Huskers earned a season-high team score of 342.400, while Minnesota placed first with a score of 350.550 and Air Force was third with a score of 329.800.

At the 2010 Rocky Mountain Open, Junior Anthony Ingrelli notched a score of 14.65 to capture his fifth career still rings title, as the Nebraska men's gymnastics team finished second with score of 337.05.

UP NEXT

After hosting the No. 9 Huskers on Feb. 13, Oklahoma travels to Ann Arbor, Mich. to compete against top-ranked Michigan on, Feb. 20.

FIVE ON NATIONAL TEAM
Four-year letterwinner Chris Brooks won the 2010 Winter Cup all-around title and regained his position on the U.S. Senior National Team on Feb. 6. Overall, one third of the national team selections were from the University of Oklahoma men's program as all five representa¬tives sent to the event were selected following strong performances.

No other NCAA Division I men's gymnastics program has more members on Senior National Team than Oklahoma and this is most National Team members that the Sooners have ever had, beating the previous total in 1994 (4).

FACE IN THE CROWD
Freshman Jacob Dalton is featured in the Feb. 8 Olympic edition of Sports Illustrated's “Faces in the Crowd.”

The feature is a part of SI's continuing coverage of the top amateur athletes around the country. Also featured in this month's issue are Stephen Dennis (Basketball), Kathleen and Joanna Stevens (Track and Field), Kiley Neushul (Water Polo), Melissa Beyruti (Basketball) and Travis Flores (Baseball).

“CLEVELAND NIGHT” RESCHEDULED
The annual “Cleveland Elementary Night” has been rescheduled for the home meet against Minnesota on Feb. 27.

The “Cleveland Elementary Night ” event is part of a “Partners in Education” program de¬veloped by Oklahoma Head Coach Mark Williams and Cleveland Elementary music teacher Regina Bell.

GYMNASTS TO WATCH

Alex Naddour | Fr. | All-Around -- Naddour was the latest Sooner to be named to the U.S. Senior national Team following his performance at the 2010 Winter Cup Challenge.

Jake Dalton | Fr. | All-Around -- Oklahoma freshman Jacob Dalton was named the College Gymnastics Association National Gymnast of the Week for the weeks of Jan. 17 and Jan. 24 on Monday after claiming two all-around titles.


STRONG START
Oklahoma has had a strong start to the 2010 campaign claiming 11 of the first 12 team event titles of the season. The Sooners have also won 13 of the 14 individual titles in the first two meets.

Both all-around titles of the season were claimed by freshman Jacob Dalton with scores of 87.500 and 89.600. Eleven of the 14 individual titles were claimed by freshman Jacob Dalton ( 9) and Alex Naddour (2).

TWICE IS NICE
Oklahoma freshman Jacob Dalton was named the College Gymnastics Association National Gymnast of the Week for the weeks of Jan. 17 and Jan. 24 on Monday.

The recognition comes after Dalton led OU in two victories at the Rocky Mountain Open and at Iowa. Dalton won the all-around in each of the meets with scores of 89.600 and 87.500, respectively, and has claimed nine of the 14 individual events titles this season.

Most recently, the Reno, Nev., native retained his status on the U.S. Senior National Team after his performance at the 2010 Winter Cup Challenge. He and four other Sooners, along with the other 10 members will comprise the U.S. team until the Visa Championships in August.

Dalton was also named the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Gymnasts of the Week for his performance at both meets.

POMMEL RECORD FALLS
Freshman Alex Naddour claimed his first individual event title as a Sooner breaking the school pommel horse record Jan. 16 at the Rocky Mountain Open with a score of 15.200.

The previous best was held by Jason Laughton with a score of 15.000 set on Feb 28, 2009.
