PREVIEWING OKLAHOMA
The Sooners enter 2010-11 following back-to-back trips to the Final Four. OU returns eight letterwinners from the squad, including three starters, and introduces six newcomers. Oklahoma was picked by the league's coaches to finish third in the Big 12 Conference this season.
Preseason All-American Danielle Robinson leads the team after a standout junior season in which she averaged 16.8 points and 5.3 assists.
Redshirt sophomore Whitney Hand, who suffered an ACL injury five games into the 2009-10 season is expected back on court in January 2011.
The Sooners introduce six newcomers, including high school All-Americans Aaryn Ellenberg and Nicole Griffin.
In the Polls
The Sooners are No. 11 in both the USA Today/ESPN Coaches' Poll and No. 13 in the Associated Press Poll this week.
Oklahoma has remained in the Top 25 of both polls since the beginning of 2005-06 season, a total of 98 weeks in the AP poll and 95 in the coaches' (including preseason polls).
Oklahoma highest ranking in either poll is No. 2, which it was ranked following the 2002 season and for a few weeks in 2008-09. The Sooners ended the past two seasons at No. 4 and No. 3.

PREVIEWING STEPHEN F. AUSTIN
Stephen F. Austin visits Norman in the second of a four-game road trip following a loss to Texas Southern by one point last Saturday in Houston and are 1-6 this season.
Junior guard Tammara Marion scored a career-best 32 points against Texas Southern, but the Ladyjacks were hindered by a season-high 24 turnovers and could not hold onto a three-point lead late in the game.
Marion is the team's leading scorer, averaging 18.6 points, and seniors Decreasha Goodner, Jordan Ford and Chantol Drennan each add 9.0 per game.
The Ladyjacks and Sooners have shared a common opponent in Texas-Pan American. SFA defeated UTPA, 96-67, and Oklahoma posted a 116-66 victory over UTPA.
SFA may be challenged by OU's perimeter shooting as the Ladyjacks have only faced about 11 3-point attempts per game while the Sooners are converting more than eight on average.
Ellenberg Big 12 Freshman of the Week
Aaryn Ellenberg averaged 23 points in two games last week and took over as the Big 12's freshman scoring leader.
The 5-7 guard scored a career-high and game-leading 34 points in OU's loss to Ohio State Sunday, Dec. 5, setting a Schottenstein Center facility record. Her total was two points shy of Courtney Paris' freshman scoring record.
Ellenberg scored 12 points and had three steals in a 94-45 rout of Sam Houston State Wednesday, Dec. 1.
`Vegas' Hits the Jackpot
Aaryn Ellenberg, a Las Vegas, Nev., native has made at least two 3-pointers each game, matching the longest streak of its kind by a Sooner. Carin Stites had eight straight games with two or more 3's during the 1990-91 season and the injured Whitney Hand has an active streak of eight games.
Ellenberg Rolls Doubles
Aaryn Ellenberg became the second Sooner freshman under Sherri Coale to reach double figure scoring in her first four college games. The other was Courtney Paris, whose consecutive double-figure scoring streak reached an NCAA record 120 games.
Ellenberg's eight-game double-figure scoring streak is the fourth longest on record for a Sooner's start of a career. Molly McGuire (1979-80) started with nine games and Barbara Johnson (1978-78) started with 17 games of double-digit scoring.
Non-Conference Success
Oklahoma is 7-1 against non-conference teams this season, 21-6 in the past two years combined, 37-9 in the past three, 48-12 in the past four and 61-13 in the past five.
The Sooners also have a 37-game home winning streak against unranked non-conference opponents with the last loss in Norman being to SMU, 71-68, on Dec. 21, 2002.
Fishing for Assists
Of Danielle Robinson's 49 assists, 23 (47 percent) have become Aaryn Ellenberg or Morgan Hook field goals. Against Ohio State, all eight of Robinson's assists were on OU 3-pointers, including all five scored by Ellenberg. Of Hook's 25 made field goals, 52 percent are Robinson-assisted.
