MANSFIELD, Texas - Three Oklahoma men's tennis players moved on to the Mansfield Futures qualifying finals after dominating performances, Sunday, at the Walnut Creek Country Club in Mansfield, Texas.
Peerakit Siributwong, the third overall seed, routed Edmond, Okla., native Spencer Papa in straight sets, 6-2, 6-3. The Oklahoma newcomer will face former University of Florida star Antonine Benneteau, the tournaments No. 10 seed, in the finals Monday.
Senior Ionut Beleleu, the No. 7 seed, had no problems taking care of Nikko Madregallejo, 6-0, 6-4. The Romanian native will face Nicola Remedi, Monday, in finals action.
Sophomore Costin Paval continued the winning trend for the Sooners as he downed former Tennessee standout Benjamin Rogers, 6-0, 6-1. The Bucharest, Romania, product will take on former UCLA Bruin Aaron Yovan (1,289 ATP) to close out finals action Monday.
