PREVIEWING OKLAHOMA
The Sooners were picked by the league's coaches to finish fifth in the strong Big 12 Conference this season.

The Sooners enter 2009-10 following one of its best seasons in history. Oklahoma notched a program record 32 wins, won its sixth Big 12 regular season title and made its second trip to the Final Four. OU returns eight letterwinners from the squad, including three starters. PreseasonAll-American Danielle Robinson and senior co-captain Amanda Thompson will lead the charge.

 Sooner to Watch

Amanda Thompson | Sr. | Forward
Amanda Thompson has her fifth double-double of the season against Iowa State with 12 points and 10 rebounds. Thompson also added three assists to have 247 in her career. The senior is the only Sooner ever to record 100 blocks, 100 steals and as many assists in a career.

PREVIEWING TEXAS TECH
Since Oklahoma defeated Texas Tech the Lady Raiders have gone 1-4 in the Big 12. That included a win against Colorado, a double-overtime loss versus Texas and two blowout losses versus Texas A&M and Nebraska.

Sophomore Kierra Mallard paces the Lady Raiders in scoring with a 13.3 average followed by senior Ashlee Roberson at 12.3 and senior Jordan Murphree at 11.9.

Roberson is the top rebounder, grabbing 8.9 boards per contest and Mallard is averaging 7.4 rebounds. Mallard is shooting 46.5 percent from the field, while freshman Mary Bokenkamp is shooting 42.9 percent from the three-point arc and senior Tilmila Martin is shooting 85.5 percent from the free throw line.

Freshman Monique Smalls has a team-high 79 assists. Murphree leads the team in steals with 46. Mallard is the top shot blocker with 47 blocks. Tech is shooting 42.1 percent from the field, 31 percent from the three-point range and 67.1 percent from the charity stripe.

Coale Winningest in Big 12
Oklahoma head coach Sherri Coale has a record of 140-74 in Big 12 regular-season conference games.

Coale is in her 14th season coaching the Sooners, all since the BIg 12 formed in 1996-97. Since then, no coach past or present has more wins in league play.

Iowa State's Bill Fennelly and Kansas State's Deb Patterson are the only other active coaches who were at their respective schools when the league was formed.

Thompson Becoming One of a Kind
Senior forward Amanda Thompson, a.k.a. `The Waitress', loves to serve up people. She's only the second Sooner ever -- the other being Courtney Paris -- to record 100 blocks and 100 steals in her career.

Thompson is also nearing her 1,000th point, 750th rebound and 250th career assist, which puts her in a class of her own.

Oklahoma's Wins...and Losses...Are Quality
Oklahoma has played the nation's second-toughest schedule, behind only Rutgers. Oklahoma's five losses have come to teams currently ranked in the top 20.

RPI
Oklahoma is No. 8 in the RPI calculator following Wednesday's loss to Iowa State. The Sooners are 2-5 versus the Top 25 this season.

Robinson Receiving Charity
OU junior Danielle Robinson finished the 2008-09 season as one of the nation's leading free throw shooters. And this year, she is finding many of her opportunities at the line.

Robinson is 60-of-75 (.800) from the charity stripe this season, including a 27-of-29 (.931) effort in Big 12 games.

Against Texas A&M Sunday, Jan. 17, Robinson made a career high 10-of-11 free throws en route to a 24-point performance and Sooner victory.
