 Sooner to Watch

Amanda Thompson | Sr. | Forward
Amanda Thompson had her second straight game with a double-double against Missouri, scoring 13 points and grabbing 11 rebounds. It was the seventh career double-double for the Sooner who passed the 700 career rebounds mark and need only 18 more to become 10th all-time in OU's record book.

PREVIEWING TEXAS TECH
Kansas enters Saturday's game at Iowa State unranked, but receiving votes in the Associated Press Poll. The Jayhawks spent the first nine weeks of the 2009-10 season ranked in the poll, including the preseason poll.

The Jayhawks are 11-6 on the season, but have fallen to 2-3 on the road. KU is averaging 70.9 points per game 34.6 rebounds an outing.

Senior Danielle McCray is one of the top players in the Big 12 and leads the way for Kansas with 20.0 points and 6.9 boards a game. McCray is shooting 46.1 percent from the field, including 43.0 percent from beyond the arc. She also dishes 2.9 assists per game.

Sophomore forward Aishah Sutherland is registering 11.0 points and a team-leading 7.9 caroms per contest. Sutherland also leads the Jayhawks in blocks (22).

Coale's Next Win is No. 300
Sherri Coale will be aiming for her 300th coaching win when OU hosts Kansas Saturday, Jan. 23.

Coale's first win came in her first game as OU's head coach, a 62-50 victory over Oral Roberts on Nov. 22, 1996.

The 100th win came 170 games later on Feb. 5, 2002, a 69-60 win over then-No. 10 Baylor at Norman.

Win No. 200 came 141 games later on March 8, 2006, a 78-74 win over Iowa State in the first round of the Big 12 Championship.

Coale Winningest in Big 12
Oklahoma head coach Sherri Coale has a record of 139-73 in Big 12 regular-season conference games.

Coale is in her 14th season coaching the Sooners, all since the BIg 12 formed in 1996-97. Since then, no coach past or present has more wins in league play.

Iowa State's Bill Fennelly and Kansas State's Deb Patterson are the only other active coaches who were at their respective schools when the league was formed.

Thompson Becoming One of a Kind
Senior forward Amanda Thompson, a.k.a. `The Waitress', loves to serve up people. She's only the second Sooner ever -- the other being Courtney Paris -- to record 100 blocks and 100 steals in her career.

Thompson is also nearing her 1,000th point, 700th rebound and 250th career assist, which puts her in a class of her own.

Oklahoma's Wins...and Losses...Are Quality
Oklahoma has played the nation's second-toughest schedule, behind only Stanford. Oklahoma's four losses have come to teams currently ranked in the top 10, who share a combined record of 63-6.

Strength of Schedule
Oklahoma is No. 6 in the NCAA's official RPI calculator following Sunday's win over Texas A&M and leads the nation in strength of schedule. The Sooners are 2-4 versus the Top 25 this season.

Robinson Receiving Charity
OU junior Danielle Robinson finished the 2008-09 season as one of the nation's leading free throw shooters. And this year, she is finding many of her opportunities at the line.

Robinson is 53-of-67 (.791) from the charity stripe this season, including a 21-of-22 (.954) effort in Big 12 games.

Against Texas A&M Sunday, Jan. 17, when Robinson made a career high 10-of-11 free throws en route to a 24-point performance and Sooner victory.
