NORMAN, Okla. - The back-to-back Big 12 Champion Oklahoma women's gymnastics squad returned to campus Monday for the start of the fall semester and its quest for a third straight conference title.
The team went through a 6:30 a.m. spin class before attending the first day of classes.
OU welcomes back 11 members from last season's group that advanced to its sixth straight NCAA Championships, joining Alabama, Florida, Georgia, LSU and Utah as the only schools to advance to the event each year since 2004.
Highlighting Oklahoma's returners is Megan Ferguson, who burst onto the collegiate gymnastics scene by garnering All-America status on beam at the 2009 NCAA Championship and became the first freshman in Big 12 history to win multiple event titles at the conference championship (bars and beam).
The team will participate in conditioning drills and voluntary workouts until the start of official practice later this fall.
