NORMAN, Okla. – Declared competitors and heat sheets for this weekend's NCAA Midwest Track and Field Regional hosted by the University of Oklahoma have been posted as anticipation for the event continues to build. Close to 800 declared entries, 414 on the men's side and 382 on the women's, have been listed for the event that serves as a qualifier for the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships for over 40 different programs.
The field encompasses a vast area of across the Midwest and includes 11 of the Big 12 Conference schools, teams from the Big Ten, Mountain West Conference, Conference USA, Western Athletic Conference, the Big Sky Conference, Southland Conference and the Sun Belt.
The two-day event at the John Jacobs Track and Field Complex kicks off Friday at 11 a.m. with the women's hammer throw. Running events begin at 3:30 p.m. with the women's 4x100-meter relay. Saturday's action also begins at 11 a.m. with the men's hammer throw as action on the track starts at 5 p.m. with the finals of the women's 4x100-meter relay.
