NORMAN, Okla. – Sooner fans can watch sophomore Steven Legendre win the all-around championship, on Thursday, April 23 on ESPN 2. The 2009 NCAA Men's Gymnastics Championships were held on the campus of the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, Minn.

ESPN2 (Cox Channel 28, HD Channel 721 in OKC) will air the tape-delayed broadcast from the team finals of the National Championships on Thursday, April 23 at 2 p.m. In addition, ESPNU (Cox Channel 253) will rebroadcast the event Sunday, April 26 at 3 p.m. Check your local listings for coverage in your area. Mike Gleason and two-time Olympic gold-medalist Bart Conner call the action from Minnesota.

The Oklahoma men's gymnastics team tallied 361.200 points to finish third at the 2009 NCAA Championship.

In addition to his all-around National Championship, Legendre defended his title on floor and posted the nation's top score (15.625) for the second straight year. The Port Jefferson, N.Y., native also claimed the individual championship on vault with a 16.350, which puts him past Bart Conner (3) with five individual titles. Legendre's three individual titles was the highest amount won by a gymnast this year. In 2008, as a freshman, Legendre won the floor and vault individual championship. 

Also collecting All-America honors this season for OU were seniors Chris Brooks (AA, FX, V), Russell Czeschin (FX, V), Kyle McNamara (HB), Jacob Messina (PH) and sophomores Bobby Shortle (FX), Legendre (AA, FX, V).

The Sooners finished the weekend with nine All-America honors as a team, the second-highest total in the nation, just two behind Stanford's 11 honorees.

Oklahoma now ranks fourth all-time in individual NCAA championships passing conference foe California (28) and UCLA (28) with a total of 29 titles.
