NORMAN, Okla. -- Oklahoma sprinter Leslie Cole has been named the Big 12 Female Athlete of the Week the conference announced Tuesday. Cole's honor comes after the senior won both the 200- and 400-meter dash at Saturday's John Jacobs Invitational, breaking a 14-year old meet record in the 400 in the process. The honor marks Cole's second of her career after receiving it in April of 2008.

Along with the meet record, the three-time All-American qualified for the 2009 U.S. Outdoor Track and Field Championships in both events with time of 22.99 and 52.28, respectively. With both times NCAA Regional qualifying marks, Cole currently ranks No. 1 in the Big 12 in the 200 and No. 2 in the 400. Cole ranks third nationally in both events.

The Idabel, Okla., native is No. 3 on the OU performance list in the 200 with a best of 22.92 and No. 2 in the 400 with a best of 51.94, both run in 2008.
