NORMAN, Okla. -- Oklahoma sophomore Steven Legendre was named the College Gymnastics Association National Gymnast of the Week as announced by the CGA on Wednesday.

The recognition comes after Legendre led OU with a school-record 16.500 on vault, which guided the Sooners 64.500 on the apparatus, a program record. Legendre was also named the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Gymnasts of the Week for his performance.

The Port Jefferson, N.Y., native also set two season-high marks on rings (15.150) and floor (15.800) to help OU claim event titles on both events. Legendre won the all-around competition with a score of 90.750, winning four events Saturday evening en route to the crown. His all-around tally was the highest in the NCAA this season.

Legendre led OU to its fourth victory over a top-ten opponent, a 358.300-342.400 victory over No. 9 Nebraska. OU's team total was the second highest this season in the NCAA.
