Ekwerekwu Selected for NCAA Forum

NORMAN, Okla. – University of Oklahoma volleyball player Francie Ekwerekwu has been selected to represent the University at the 2009 NCAA National Student-Athlete Development Conference. The event takes place May 24-27 in Orlando, Fla., at the Walt Disney World Coronado Spring Resort.

“Francie is a great ambassador for the University of Oklahoma, our athletic department and the volleyball program,” said OU head coach Santiago Restrepo. “She is a great role model and a true leader.”

According to the NCAA, at the NCAA National Student-Athlete Development Conference, student-athletes are able to critically assess issues that affect them as student-athletes. The conference is a great tool to help sharpen the skills of student-athlete leaders and increase their involvement in campus programs.

Ekwerekwu was nominated by the University and chosen to attend by the NCAA.
