NORMAN, Okla. -- Ti'Anca Mock has only one thing on her mind -- records.

Only a sophomore, she is already the OU record-holder in the long jump. When asked her goals for the remainder of her career, Mock dreams of extending that record, in addition to leaving her mark in a number of other events.

She is proud of her accomplishments but not satisfied. She is confident in her ability but not cocky. She has the drive to get better and also the work ethic to make it happen.

In a sport where records are truly made to be broken, Mock hopes to set a standard that will stand for a very long time.

On how it feels to be a Big 12 Champion:
"It feels great. I went in expecting to get first place, and I came out with first place, so it feels great."

On the drama going into the finals at Big 12s:
"Going into the finals I was in second place. On my last jump, Coach Boone was telling me how I should just run off the board and keep my knees up. Then I had Coach Fischer on the sideline telling me I had it in me and rooting me on. It felt great to have both of them there telling me I could do it."

On what goes through her mind before she takes off on the runway:
"What I really think about is just my technique and everything that Coach Boone has taught me in practice. I think about that the whole way down the runway and during my jump and then just focus on landing the way I'm supposed to."

On being the school record-holder in the long jump:
"At the Arkansas track meet when I broke the record, I was expecting to jump 6.40 (meters) but I came up an inch short at 6.39. I was still happy because I got the automatic to go to nationals. Other than that, it feels great to be the record holder."

On the NCAA Indoor Championships:
"I got comfortable with Texas A&M's runway so I'm ready to go back and show them what I can do."

On the NCAA meet being close to home:
"My whole family lives in Navasota, Texas, so they're right up the road from College Station. It's easier for them to come see me there than anywhere else. It will be great to see them there."

On being able to compete in front of friends and family at such a big meet:
"It's really exciting because in high school I can only remember them being at a couple of my track meets because they were always working. Just to see my mom, my daddy and my grandma there is very exciting."

On her goals for the remainder of her career:
"I want to extend the long jump record, get the triple jump record and maybe some sprints. I might not get the record in those, but I'm going to be up there somewhere."
