OU Shares 11th at FSU Lexus Classic

FRESNO, Calif. - The University of Oklahoma men's golf squad concluded the Fresno State Lexus Classic in a tie for 11th on Tuesday in Fresno, Calif. The Sooners fired a final-round team score of 298 (+10) at the par-72 Belmont Country Club, sharing a spot on the leaderboard with Sacramento State, who also finished the 54-hole event at 897 (+33).
Oklahoma was paced by sophomore Ryan Sirman, who closed with consecutive rounds of 73 after a tournament-opening 76, finishing the event in a share of 25th.
Three shots behind Sirman was junior Ben Blundell at +9. The Rowlett, Texas, native carded scores of 78, 71 and 76 in a 40th-place result at the 6511-yard layout.
Riley Pumphrey (74-77-76) and Liam Logan (77-73-77) both placed 49th at +11 in the two day event.
Rounding out the Oklahoma scoring was sophomore Chris Wilson, who stood T69th at 14-over (78-79-73).
Overnight co-leader Washington won the tournament title after a final-round team tally of 281 (-7). The Huskies cleared the field by five shots, as host-squad Fresno State finished second at +1 after shooting the low round of the event on Tuesday (8-under-par 280).
Ramie Sprinkling of UC Davis earned medalist honors at -4 after starting the final round in sixth place. Sprinkling carded rounds of 68, 75 and 69 for a two-stroke win over a trio of opponents.
The Sooners return to the links March 20-22, at the Schenkel E-Z-GO Invitational in Statesboro, Ga.
