Golfers Share Sixth after 18 Holes

KAMUELA, Hawaii - The University of Oklahoma men's golf squad stands in a tie for sixth with No. 5 Stanford after one round of the 19th-annual University of Hawaii at Hilo Invitational Golf Tournament at the Mauna Lani Resort North Course on Wednesday.
The Sooners fired a team score of +6 at the par-72, 6,913-yard layout, led by Ben Blundell's 2-under-par 70. The Rowlett, Texas, junior shares fifth after 18 holes of the three-round, spring opener for the Sooners.
No. 11 Washington is the overnight leader, followed by second-ranked USC and Oregon in second and third, respectively. The Huskies are seven-under-par with a cumulative score of 281, four strokes ahead of the Trojans.
Rodolfo Estrada, of tournament host UH-Hilo, is the early leader for medalist honors after a first-round 66.

Oklahoma's Riley Pumphrey fired an even-par 72, while Liam Logan (75) and Chris Wilson (77) closed out the counted scores. Junior Eric Durbin shot a tournament-opening 85.
The second round will commence Thursday at 11:30 a.m. (CT) with a shotgun start.
