NORMAN, Okla. — Along with hosting its second home meet of the season, the University of Oklahoma Track & Field program will split to four different locations this weekend. Action begins Friday with the men's distance core at the Meyo Invitational in South Bend, Ind., while the women's sprints group heads to New York City for the New Balance Collegiate Invitational. Saturday in Norman will feature the jumps and throws groups in the Sooner Open I while the men's sprints group heads to Albuquerque, N.M., for the New Mexico Classic.
The weekend kicks off with the women's 400-meter dash at the New Balance Collegiate Invitational at 1:55 p.m. EST. The race will feature three OU women led by senior Leslie Cole who is currently ranked fifth in the nation in the event. Cole is also ranked No. 11 in the 200-meter dash, an event she will compete in this weekend in New York City. Cole has posted NCAA provisional qualifying marks in both events.
Sophomore Ti'Anca Mock holds the nation's fourth-longest distance of the season in the long jump and will compete in both the long and triple jump this weekend. Mock has also already reached an NCAA automatic qualifying mark in the long jump and a provisional in the triple jump. Mock will be joined by Scottesha Miller in the long jump, one of two events the sophomore is provisionally qualified in, the other being the 60-meter dash.

Action at the Sooner Open I inside the Mosier Indoor Facility is tentatively scheduled to kick off Saturday at 10 a.m. CST with the men's long jump and women's 3,000-meter run. The meet will feature sophomore K.P. Singh attempt to break his own program record in the weight throw. Singh currently has the nation's eighth-longest throw of 2009.
Men's sprints at the New Mexico Classic will fire up at 10 a.m. MST as competition in the 60-meter hurdles gets underway.
