DETROIT -- Oklahoma's Danielle Robinson is among the 13 candidates contending for the Nancy Lieberman Award, announced this week by the award committee.

The award is a national project of the Rotary Club of Detroit honoring the nation's top collegiate point guard in women's Division I basketball. The criteria for the award are the floor leadership, play-making and ball-handling skills that personified Hall of Famer Nancy Lieberman during her career.

Robinson, who averages 13.2 points, leads the second-ranked Sooners in assists (166) and steals (62).  The sophomore from San Jose, Calif., is also the second-leading free throw shooter in the country with a 93.1 percent success rate this season.

The final nominee list for the award was compiled by sportswriters from across the country.  They will select three finalists from this list and one winner at the beginning of April. The announcement of the winner will be made during the NCAA Women's Final Four weekend (April 5-7).

This year's award will be presented at The Detroit Athletic Club on April 22.
