NORMAN, Okla. – While the Sooner baseball team and the rest of the students on the campus of the University of Oklahoma prepare for finals week, members of the OU coaching staff were also in the classroom as it hosted the second annual high school coaches' clinic in Norman on Thursday.

Over 50 high school coaches from all around the state of Oklahoma gathered in the home clubhouse at L. Dale Mitchell Park as head coach Sunny Golloway and the rest of the Sooner coaches addressed the group.

The two-day event will conclude on Friday.

“It was fun to get around other baseball coaches and talk about the sport,” said Golloway.  “I am always excited to see coaches at all levels eager to learn more about baseball and share information with each other and our staff.

“It's beneficial not only to them, but for our staff as well, as we learn from each other and better ourselves in our profession.  That's the same coaching philosophy our staff exercises with our players each and every day in order to make them better players.”

The 2010 Sooners completed fall practices a month ago and will return to campus when the spring semester begins in preparation for the 2010 season opener at San Diego State on Friday, Feb. 19, 2010.  OU's home opener UT-Arlington is set for March 2.
