NORMAN, Okla. -- The OU baseball team concluded team practices in the fall during the second week of November with the annual Red/White Series.
In preparation for the 2010 season, Soonersports.com will help fans get to know the numerous new faces around the diamond at L. Dale Mitchell Park.
Throughout the three months leading up to the season, SoonerSports.com will feature one of the Sooners' 19 newcomers that will join a group of 17 letterwinners from the 2009 team that hosted the Norman Regional with the No. 7 national seed.
Each spotlight will include an updated bio, Q&A session and videos of each player in action from the Red/White Series and a scouting report from OU Head Coach Sunny Golloway.
The first installment focuses on freshman left-handed pitcher Brandon Bargas from Owasso, Okla.

SS: What, if any, is the reason behind your uniform number, No. 14?
BB: It's my high school number and I did well in high school, so I got to keep it.
SS: Do you have any game or practice superstitions?
BB: I pray down the line and always get dirt on my fingers before I pitch
SS: What is one thing that fans don't know about you?
BB: I won 3 straight state championships in a row at my high school

Why did you choose OU?
BB: Because you can never take away being a SOONER!! They were the first to approach and I knew the program has been getting better every year.

If you could bring one thing from your hometown, what would it be?
BB:
My mom with her cooking
SS: What's the one memory that stands out from your childhood?
BB: Buying my first glove and playing catch with my dad. We bought a right handed glove from Walmart and that didn't work out so that's how we found out i was left handed.

What's your nickname? Reasoning behind it?
BB: My nickname is B.B., my initials and because I throw bb's.

Who is the most most famous person you've ever met?
BB: I met Alfonso Soriano at a Rangers game and got his autograph

What can you not go without during the baseball season?
BB: iPhone, laptop, and seeds
