Gymnasts to be Honored Saturday

NORMAN, Okla. - OU fans will have a chance to meet the Big 12 Champion Sooner women's gymnastics squad on Saturday before Oklahoma's football game with TCU.  The team will sign autographs as part of the Sooner Fan Fest, from 3:45-4:30, on the north side of Gaylord Family Oklahoma Memorial Stadium.

The squad will also receive their 2008 championship rings on the field Saturday in a halftime ceremony with OU President David Boren and VP/ Director of Athletics Joe Castiglione.

The Sooners welcome back 11 members from last season's group that clinched OU's first Big 12 title since 2004, after carding an undefeated regular season.  Oklahoma placed eighth at the '08 NCAA Championships - tying a program best.

Gymnastics fans will have their first chance to meet OU's freshmen class of Megan Ferguson, Natasha Kelley, Sara Stone and Hailey Wagner.  The quartet joined Oklahoma's returning members for the start of official practices on Monday.
