BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The OU men's golf team stands 12th after 36 holes of the Shoal Creek Intercollegiate in Birmingham, Ala. The Sooners rebounded from a Monday-morning round of 317 (+29), by shooting a team score of 300 (+12) in afternoon play.
OU junior Ben Blundell stood fifth towards the end of the first round, but was disqualified at the conclusion of his opening round, forcing Oklahoma to count the four remaining scores.
Redshirt-freshman Riley Pumphrey led the Sooners through 36 holes after rounds of 78 and 74 and stands tied for 31st. A stroke back is sophomore Liam Logan (77-76 / 37th).
Tyler Rody rebounded from a tournament-opening 81 with a 74 on Monday afternoon, improving to 45th. Rounding out the OU scoring was Ryan Sirman who stands 52nd after rounds of 81 and 76.
Although disqualified from individual scoring, Blundell returned to the course with a 78 in afternoon play.
Zack Sucher of tournament-host UAB holds the overnight lead for medalist honors at 3-under, while Baylor takes an eight-shot lead over LSU into Tuesday's final round.
